ALPHARETTA

Alpharetta’s history dates back to the 1830's and the resettlement of the Cherokee Indian Nation, and it was December 11th, 1858 when Alpharetta was first chartered as a town. During the depression of the early 1930’s Milton County merged with Fulton County with the intention of saving the area from economic disaster.
Today Alpharetta is home to more than 3600 businesses. Residents enjoy quality Fulton County Schools, community and special events, and award winning parks. Alpharetta is home to North Point Mall, Encore Park amphitheatre, “The Cooler” ice rink, Andretti indoor kart track, Wills Park Equestrian center, and the Alpharetta branch library.
Alpharetta golf and country clubs include: Atlanta National, Crooked Creek, Country Club of the South, The Manor Golf and CC, White Columns, and Windward just to name a few.
Alpharetta’s downtown area is where Main St. (Hwy 9) meets Academy St. and includes many shops and businesses as well as City Hall. Alpharetta is north of Dunwoody/Sandy Springs and stretches from Norcross on the east to Roswell on the west. Alpharetta can be reached from GA 400 via exits 7-10.
